Green River Paddle Trail Canoe Trips

The Green River Paddle Trail begins at the Green River Lake tailwater and runs more than 50 miles to Lynn Camp Creek on the Hart-Green county line.  Diehard boaters can continue their journey through Munfordville and into Mammoth Cave National Park.

The trail offers excellent daylong fishing trips in Green and Taylor counties.  The first stop begins at the Tailwater Recreation Center, located in Taylor County off KY 55.  Downstream of the dam, the Green cuts through farms and wooded hills for approximately 14 miles to the Roachville boat ramp on KY 3098.

Leaving downstream from the Roachville ramp, anglers can fish about 9.5 miles of water until they reach the Greensburg boat ramp at the American Legion Park off KY 417.  Just Downstream of the park's ramp is Buzzard's Hole, a favorite spot of local anglers.

The Green River Paddle Trail ramp is another two miles downstream.  Fishing between the park and the ramp is an easy half-day trip.

At the ramp, the city of Greensburg offers anglers a place to pull out and stretch their legs.  The area, located off West Columbia Avenue, includes an old water treatment plant renovated by Greensburg for the use of paddlers on the river.  The site includes a boat ramp, canoe and kayak outfitter, rental cabins, several RV hookups and ample parking.  It's within walking distance of the town center, where floaters can stock up on groceries or shop.
