Community Programs
Fingerprinting
The Police Department conducts annual visits to the elementary school and offers fingerprinting and photographs of each fourth-grade student. This information is placed in a booklet for the parents to keep updated and in a safe place. We encourage all parents to allow their children to be included in this program.

House Watch
The Greensburg Police Department's House Watch Program is designed to provide peace of mind to our residents while they are away from home for extended periods of time, whether for vacation, illness, work-related travel, or other circumstances. If you would like your property added to our House Watch list, contact us at (270) 932-4202.

Personal Defense Classes
Greensburg Police Department is in the early stages of designing a basic self-defense course.  The  basic self-defense course will be designed to show citizens basic self-defense maneuvers to use in the event of an assault or other attack. Additionally, participants will learn about general personal safety practices and how to avoid these attacks. Classes may include simulated scenarios that allow participants to practice these skills.

The Department also plans to offer a defense course for college bound female high school students. The class will be a comprehensive program taught in a relaxed environment that teaches techniques and tactics, awareness, risk-reduction, and unique insights about the problem of violence against college students.

Senior Defense Classes
The Greensburg Police Department understands that senior citizens are frequently targeted by criminals and often unknowingly become victims of crime. Our classes will teach seniors how to recognize mail and computer fraud and how to protect themselves from criminals.
